The F-35 Lightning II will make its international debut in the skies over the United Kingdom this Summer at the Royal International Air Tattoo and then at the Farnborough International Airshow.

Record crowds are expected to attend the shows to get a look at the world’s only 5th generation multi-role fighter.

Mick Bonney, EDM’s Director – Sales and Business Development said:

“As a member company of the JSF UK Industry Team, it is exciting news that the F-35’s first flight  outside of the USA will be in the UK.”

EDM was selected by Lockheed Martin to design and manufacture the ground-based based training devices for the F-35 comprising of the Ejection System Maintenance Trainer (ESMT) and the Weapons Loading Trainer (WLT).

The single-engine, single-seat F-35 will be manufactured in three versions: a conventional-takeoff-and-landing (CTOL) variant, an aircraft-carrier version (CV), and a short-takeoff/vertical landing (STOVL) version. EDM is working on the simulated training equipment for all three of the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) variants in one training system.
