Manchester, UK. EDM, a leading global provider of training simulators to the civil aviation and defence sectors, announced today that one of its electrical engineers has just completed a five year apprenticeship.
Rory Cook was awarded his Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering Manufacture – Craft and Technician (Electrical and Electronic Engineering) in July this year after joining EDM in 2010. Rory, who studied one day per week at Oldham Training Centre whilst serving his apprenticeship, has also achieved a Level 3 NVQ Extended Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
During his career to date at EDM, Rory has worked on many of the company’s highest profile manufacturing projects including a B737 Cabin Emergency Evacuation Trainer for Air China and B777 Door Trainer for Garuda Indonesia, as well as Full Mission Simulators and Weapons Loading Trainers for the company’s defence clients. Rory was mentored and supported throughout his apprenticeship by a broad number of his colleagues including Tony Worswick, Phil Marshall and Martin Turner.
