Manchester, UK. EDM, a leading global provider of training simulators to the civil aviation and defence sectors, announced today that Singapore Airlines has formally accepted their new A350 Door Trainer. A team of three Singapore Airlines personnel participated in the Factory Acceptance Test at EDM’s facility in the UK last week.
The Door Trainer will be installed next month by EDM engineers at Singapore Airlines’ Crew Training Centre and then be used to train cabin crew on the safe operation of the A350 main door including procedures for normal, abnormal and emergency operation.
The A350 Door Trainer comprises standard and customised features including a functional Additional Attendant Panel (AAP), touch screen Forward Attendant Panel (FAP), Attendant Indication Panel (AIP), tablet Instructor Operating Station (IOS) and bi-folding lavatory door and lavatory cubicle.
EDM was the first company in the industry to manufacture an A350 Door Trainer for Cathay Pacific at the beginning of this year and earlier this month the company shipped its second A350 Door Trainer to Ethiopian Airlines. EDM was also the first to market with a B787 Door Trainer for its clients All Nippon Airways and United Airlines (formerly Continental Airlines).
