Shadow Cabinet Minister, Lucy Powell, visits EDM

Manchester, UK. EDM, a leading global provider of training simulators to the civil aviation and defence sectors, welcomed Shadow Secretary for Education, Lucy Powell, to its headquarters last week.

The MP for Manchester Central was shown a selection of EDM’s civil aviation training equipment such as Door Trainers and Cabin Service Trainers for clients including Singapore Airlines and Ethiopian Airlines. Ms Powell also saw demonstrations of a selection of the company’s training equipment for the defence market such as a Crew Escape and Safety Systems Trainer and Ejection Seat Trainer as well as enjoying a test flight in a military Pilot Training Simulator.

EDM has enjoyed rapid growth over the past 12 months, with an on-going expansion of its workforce to meet the demands of a number of major new contracts with clients including Cathay Pacific, Turkish Airlines, Garuda Indonesia and All Nippon Airways. The company expects 90% of its turnover to be generated from exports this year.
