EDM takes part in The South China Morning Post’s landmark UK Country Report

13 March 2014

EDM has been invited to take part by The South China Morning Post newspaper and Discovery Reports Group Ltd in a special Country Business Report on the UK. The report, the first ever to be published about the UK by the newspaper, will be based on interviews with prominent British business and political figures and will serve as a comprehensive guide to doing business in the UK.

The South China Morning Post is based in Hong Kong and is Asia’s leading English language newspaper. Given the newspaper’s importance within English language publishing in Greater China, the report is aiming to encourage trade and co-operation between Greater China and the UK.

Tony Bermingham, EDM’s Managing Director said:

“It is an honour that EDM has been asked to take part in this country report which is intended to showcase the expertise and niche capabilities of companies from a variety of sectors and industries across the UK. EDM has a strong track record of trading with Southeast Asia and China and as such we are able to speak with some authority about our export experiences and hopefully offer some helpful advice to business leaders both in the UK and Asia.”

EDM has built a wide footprint amongst airline clients in Southeast Asia and has provided cabin crew training equipment to Air China, China Southern, China Eastern Airlines, Hainan Airlines, All Nippon Airways, Garuda Indonesia and Philippine Airlines.

In 2008 EDM established a partnership with Xi’an Feibao, a Chinese company who also manufacture cabin crew training equipment. China is now EDM’s biggest market and represents 65% of the company’s export sales.

The South China Morning Post Country Report will be published on June 13, 2014.
