EDM ships Cabin Emergency Evacuation Trainer to Ethiopian Airlines

Manchester, UK. EDM, a leading global provider of training simulators to the civil aviation and defence sectors, announced today that it has shipped a Cabin Emergency Evacuation Trainer (CEET) to Ethiopian Airlines.

Manufactured at EDM’s UK headquarters in Manchester, the CEET is specifically designed to provide a highly realistic training environment for Ethiopian Airlines’ cabin crew covering key procedures such as door operation, evacuation, fire and smoke training, cabin communications and aircraft systems familiarisation. The CEET is also fitted with SEPTRE, EDM’s market-leading audio-visual system that elevates cabin crew training to the highest industry standards.

SEPTRE provides real-time graphics at each passenger window and highly realistic audio that covers all phases of flight – from push-back, taxi and take-off to cruising, descent and landing. The system also includes pre-programmed emergency scenarios such as aborted take-off, engine fire, gear collapse, turbulence, ditching and decompression making SEPTRE the most advanced cabin crew training system in the civil aviation industry.

The CEET is a B737 with a B757 training door and will be fitted onto an electric motion platform once installed at Ethiopian Airlines’ state-of-the-art training facility at Bola International Airport in Addis Ababa. The CEET is part of a comprehensive range of cabin crew training equipment that EDM is designing and manufacturing for Ethiopian Airlines. The other training products include a hybrid B787 / B777 Cabin Emergency Evacuation Trainer and an A350 Door Trainer whilst an extended B767 Door Trainer and extended Bombardier Q400 Door Trainer have already been delivered.
