EDM's cockpits for CAE Hawk sims

EDM has manufactured three high fidelity cockpits for CAE which form part of the full mission simulators (FMS) used to train pilots from the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) on their recently upgraded Hawk MK127 aircraft. The FMS cockpits will be certified to the civil simulator equivalent of Level D to reduce the requirement for live training on the aircraft with a subsequent reduction on the airframe fatigue life. The cockpits are the latest in a series of Hawk cockpits produced for the Royal Air Force and another overseas Hawk customer. They are fitted with the latest version of EDM’s state-of-the-art G-cueing ejection seat. The cockpits are installed and in use at RAAF Base Pearce in Western Australia and RAAF Base Williamtown in New South Wales.
