EDM is excited to announce that it is a sponsor of the inaugural IATA Cabin Operations Safety Conference (http://www.iata.org/events/Pages/cabin-safety.aspx) to be held in Madrid on 20th May to 23rd May, 2014.

The conference will be a blend of workshops, panels, interactive case study analysis sessions presented by industry experts and key stakeholders on the current challenges and suggested best practices related to cabin operations safety.

Mick Bonney, EDM’s Director – Sales and Business Development, will be a guest speaker in the Cabin Crew Training Best Practices panel discussion.

Mick Bonney says:

“I’m delighted to be a member of the panel discussion where there will be an opportunity to debate and share best practice with aviation colleagues about the key cabin safety issues affecting the industry. I will be aiming to highlight the importance of training and the increasing use and effectiveness of simulated training devices.”

In addition, EDM’s new SEPTRE cabin crew training device will feature in the exhibition area where the EDM team will be on hand to provide demonstrations to the conference delegation which is made up of 70 plus airlines from across the world.

Mick Bonney adds:

“EDM is very excited to bring a new SEPTRE demonstrator to the IATA conference. This is the industry’s most advanced training device as it combines synchronized motion, sound and visuals as they would be experienced in real life situations on-board the aircraft.”

“One of SEPTRE’s unique features is that it has a series of image generators on each window which provide a variety of seamless real-time scenes from land and ocean to sky scenes and special effects such as engine fire. What’s more, EDM has ensured that SEPTRE offers airlines a high degree of flexibility as it can be retrofitted to existing Cabin Emergency Evacuation Trainers or developed as a new solution in both fixed or motion based formats.”

To date SEPTRE has been installed with all of the major Chinese airlines including Air China, China Southern, Hainan Airlines, Xiamen Airlines, Sichuan Airlines, Shandong Airlines and Shenzhen Airlines and will soon be installed as an upgrade to China Eastern’s existing A320 CEET.

EDM will be exhibiting on booth 2 and 3 at the IATA Cabin Operations Safety Conference and Mick Bonney will take part in the panel discussion on Thursday 22nd May 2014 at the Hotel Meliá Castilla, Madrid.
